General Appearance

The Great Dane blends integrity, strength and elegance with great size and a strong, well-formed, smoothly muscled body in its regal appearance. It is one of the giant working breeds, but it is unusual in that it must be so well balanced in its general conformation that it never appears clumsy and moves with long reach and strong drive. It’s still the unit — the dogs’ Apollo. A Great Dane has to be spirited, bold, never timid; always polite and trustworthy. This blend of physical and mental is the trait that gives the Great Dane the majesty no other breed possesses. It is especially true of this breed because, contrary to an impression of femininity in bitches, there is an impression of great masculinity in dogs. The most extreme fault is the lack of the true Dane breed type, as described in this norm.Great Dane puppies for sale in Iowa. Buy Great Dane harlequin puppy.

About the Harlequin great dane

Danes tower above most other dogs as much as 32 inches at the shoulder — and while they are standing on their hind legs, they are taller than most humans. These strong giants, with the smooth and simple advancement of born noblemen, are the image of beauty and balance. The coat comes in numerous colors and designs, with the black-and-white patchwork pattern known as “harlequin” being perhaps the best-known.

Given their sweet disposition, the Danes are warning guardians of their house. Usually, just the sight of those gentle giants is enough to make intruders think twice. But those foolish enough to confuse the friendliness of the breed for softness will come across a formidable foe of true courage and spirit. Patient with children, the Danes are pleasure’s of people who make friends quickly.
